Dear sauna friends,
Our sauna barrel, which smells wonderfully of cedar wood, has a large panoramic window facing the forest through which we have even been able to observe a wild boar and some deer in winter. In the sauna area there is a cold water shower and four covered loungers from which you can hear the sound of the Baltic Sea spring. There is also an outdoor sanitary area with WC and hot showers in front of the sauna. The sauna can be booked for several guests, so there may be other guests using the sauna during your stay.
Our sauna rules:
- Please bring a bathrobe, large towels and a blanket -the relaxation area is covered outdoors.
- No bare skin or sweat may get on the wood.
- Before using the sauna, you must clean yourself thoroughly in the shower.
- This area is unsupervised.
- Alcohol and glass bottles are prohibited.
- No access for minors.
- Infusions are currently not permitted.
- Access only after registration at the information centre (blue building by the barrier), where you will receive the key for your stay.
- Smoking and pets are not permitted in the entire sauna area.
Location
The sauna is located between Block 8 and the bungalows.
Time
The day of arrival corresponds to the day of sauna use. Unless otherwise requested by e-mail or in person on site, we assume a time of use from 6 pm to 9 pm. However, we are also happy to arrange an individual time of use of a maximum of 3 hours, which is limited to the period between 10:00 and 22:00.

About the forest by the sauna
The Niendorf forest is a primeval forest and alluvial forest at the same time (bog-like and under water in many places). It is neither cultivated nor entered. Our tent meadow is located on a former paddock right next to the forest, which has not been used for many decades.
The forest is a nature reserve and should not be entered. Sustainability is very important to us!
The forest is home to many animals, especially birds such as blackbirds, chaffinches, ducks, bats, ravens, mistle thrushes, wood pigeons, song thrushes, wood warblers and chiffchaffs. There are also herds of wild boar, especially in spring with their young. We particularly like the regular visits of the roe deer, the doe also gives birth to her fawns in our forest, but also the bucks with their beautiful antlers/horns.
But there are also predators here, such as the ermine, which colours its fur white in winter, and we have also seen foxes.
The trees are mainly represented by ash and alder, but willows and oaks are also present. These are often surrounded by elder trees.
